Bryan O'Conner
Assistant Finance Manager
What's a Production Unit Manager?
(Answer stolen from Wikipedia): A Production Unit Manager is responsible for watching all costs on the project, with the intention of delivering the film or show on budget at the end of principal photography. The UPM will deliver the working budget to the financer during the "prep" period, therefore setting the business plan of the project.
There, we couldn't have defined it better. We consider our company, Beyond Pix, a production that has been ongoing for 15 years. On that basis, Bryan is the man that watches our backs, our clients' interests and the integrity of our projects by making sure we operate at the optimal financial agreement to ensure harmony amongst all parties. It's a tough job, but mild-mannered Bryan even under stress is as cool as the underside of a pillow.
He's always had the ambitions of being in the production/entertainment since he was watching Saturday morning cartoons as a kid and he pursued this dream with vigor all through his young life with involvement in theatre and numberous 16mm films.
As far as we're concerned, he's the perfect Production Unit Manager for our biggest production, us.
